If so, I would ask to suspend this feature if possible. Specificity of Silesian Wikipedia is that the focus on local editions is very important due to small base of revisors, unique guidelines and lot of automated spam in the past. Records from Wikidata appear to be over 50% and may disrupt mutual revisions, which are in my opinion critical to content quality assurance. Krol111 kontakt 19:01, 28 sty 2026 (CET)
- Hello @Krol111, thanks for getting in touch. I checked szl-wiki on this query tool: Quarry, for the share of Wikidata-edits on the Silesian wiki recent changes table, and it comes out around 87%. I want to stress that those edits are currently being logged, they are just filtered out currently (if you have the setting show Wikidata edits disabled).
- My team is also investigating how that share of edits can be reduced where it makes sense (and without losing critical information relevant to editors), and to explore how to annotate Wikidata edits from the recent changes/watchlist pages to better inform the reader the category or nature of the edit.
This feeds into why we are looking for pilot wikis to collect feedback from, even if that feedback is critical due to the volume of Wikidata edits. Would you consider a trial period of a month after which we can restore to the previous state? However, looking only at the interest of szl-wiki, I think the feature is counterproductive and would prefer it not to be added.
